can you paint the vert top??
can you paint the vert top?? hey guys on my 98 ss,i have the t10 top which is the all white top and it very ugly looking.i drove to diffrent shops and they charge anywhere from 500-700 dollars.so i was wondering if u can temporary paint it black?
You could dye it spray dye. Kinda like spray paint. I'd highly advise spending a long time making sure theres no armor all or any type of protectant that would interfere with the dye sticking. Otherwise your top might look a lot worse. You'll have to do several coats to get even coverage.
so u can paint it.awesome. were can i get this dye?well the top has never been clean by me so i would figure its never gotten no protectant coat ever by how dirty it is.wat will i have to use to clean it to prep it for the dye

You know tops are inexpensive. And you might as well get a new one because that dye wont look as good as a fresh new one and there is a chance it will turn out blotchy especially if it isnt done profesionnaly. I just tried to convince a customer not to put a white top back on, go with a black, he just had to have it, and after seeing the dirt and mildew on his previous one I knew he would be back in a year, lol.

psyko let me ask u a question,most of the shops in miami fl charge around 500 bucks to replace the top for a black vinyl one not fabric,second the rear glass they told it will have to be painted because the only way of it being new i will have to buy a new glass with the vinyl on it already that was like an extra 350 something dollars.now for an all cloth top black w/ rear glass was like 1500 bucks.now i also have a local camaro junk yard that will sell me a complet top motor brackets exc for 600 buck used but in perfect condition.wat should i do?

600 for the motor and brackets and im guessing the hyd resevoir and all lines, if so that is still alot for those parts, i would keep shopping, maybe look on ebay. Also like I have said before when it comes to verts shops rip you off. Also there is a seller on ebay who sells factory replacement tops for less than 300 for our cars shipped WITH the back glass. If you need just the glass for a top dont be fooled, the convertible top and the back glass are two seperate peices.
