I separated the skin and side piece from a vert decklid frame and a hatchback skin from its frame. I used the framework from the vert decklid, after some trimming to the frame to allow the hatchback skin to meet the quarter panel contour. If you look at the underside of your decklid, you can see a rounded brace. That is about where the hatchback glass meets the hatch lid.
I used the skin from the vert on the very front and back to the opening that the hatch skin left. The spoiler is no longer bolted on. It needed to flow into the existing pieces at the sides of the roof, so it had to be permanent, which was the plan anyhow.
The feet on the outside of the spoiler were cut out underneath to allow them to go over the tops of the boxes that the hinges fold into.
The hatch lid was formed up to meet the vert lid at the front where the spoiler also meets. The bodyman did a very good job. It has a few flaws, but I am satisified as it is probably the first and only of its kind.
As far as the overhang, I did not like the way it looked when mounted in the original position on the hatch lid. It would have made things a whole lot easier to have left it there too. I had the two middle feet about three inches from the rear, but by the time it was over and done with, I had moved it to where it is now.
I am very pleased with how it looks regardless. It sure is better than it was!!!
