no floor mats in the back but the frronts actually fit in quite well without cutting.....

I took out my rear seats completly seat belts, brackets, evertthing from the back. might put back in eventully but no one is riding back there so why have it in. Looking at a k-member to help offset the extra weight that was added with the bar.

I gave up on the weight savings along time ago. All I add is weight;roll bar, sub frames, bigger sway bars, strut tower brace, and bigger brakes.

My daughter rides in the back, so the seats went back in right away. She is ten, and fits back there like the roll bar wasn't even there.

that is part of my conscern is back seat usage as this is jsut a weekend family car for us so our kids have to use the back seat and i don't want it to interfer.....mostly I like the looks of a roll bar and the extra safety idea if the kids are going to be in there and something were to happen. any thoughts on padding the bars?

looks great, i've been mulling putting one my my vert too. how tall are you? i'm 6'-3, and like my seat WAY back - where the seatbelt guide on the seat back is about an inch from touching the bulkhead. would i be losing any seat travel?

how intrusive are the removable door bars on these? also the removable seatbelt bar (or whatever you call the one behind the seats)? do the mounts for them stick out far enough to hit them in an accident?

i put a 4-point bar in my wife's 2000 Miata (now sold); hre are my impressions:

I put it in for safety concerns, and ended up really liking the looks of it when it was done, but the safety benefit was questionable. obviously it makes the car safer in a rollover, but other more common accidents became my concern. it was OK for her since it was behind the head restraint in her seat position, but actually reduced the safety for me because my head could've hit it if we got Tboned. there's a reason you wear a helmet in a racecar. it had a really nice looking but thin pad on it that matched the interior, but the pad also reduced the clearance to the top when putting it down.

i wouldn't put anyone in the back seat whose head came above the seatback. below that i think they would be safer than without the bar, above that and IMO they're worse off.

My daughter is ten and sits pretty far away from the bars still. I have thought about padding as she gets older and closer to the bars. If you go the roll bar route, make sure you get a removable cross bar. I leave mine out unless i am at Road Atlanta. My daughter has no troubles getting in and out the back seat.

Agree with ya on the size of the person for the back seat. My daughters head is still below the back of the seat, so I feel pretty good about that. I am actuall 6'-4" and with the bar behind the seats in, makes me sit up pretty straight. With the bar removed, I can set the seat back pretty far. I just have to get two caps to cover the ends of the roll bar where the center bar slides over. Thats because the seat back rubs on those ends. Don't want to wear a cut into the seat. It's also a 4 point, so i don't need to worry about getting in and out of the car (wife )

I am very happy with the fit, quality, and all the looks I get now since the install. I got some looks before, but now everyone stares at the car as I drive by.
