Default Ordered belts to go along with the roll bar

I just order two sets of RED 5 pt. harnesses from Wolfe Racecraft with the crotch braces. We are also strongly considering permanetly eliminating the front seatbelts. The wife said she will wear the harness all the time, but once she puts one on, that may all change. Here is what they look like.

What ya think?

why not just leave the front seat belts for the passenger and harness for the driver side? I mean, when your racing, well, at the drag strip, you ride solo so it should be ok....

I am set up to run Track Days at Road Atlanta, and there we can have passengers, so we are both safe. Also, I do more show than go, so the belts look good in the car. More than likely, the seatbelts will stay.

I wouldn't wear racing belts in hot weather ...your girl will not like it..any long distance driving will seem twice as long wearing heavy belts..keep the stockers IMO.

Thanks man. I think I will keep em now and use the racing belts only when I'm at Road Atlanta, or just feel like something different.

They bolt down to the factory seat belt mount on the out side of the seat. You just have to get a longer bolt so you can bolt both of them down together. Grade 8 is what they recommend.

Yes there is. Just move the seat all the way forward and you can get to it.

Racing belts are not DOT approved . . . FYI.

And once you wear them and realise waht a PITA they are you'll love regualr seat belts for just regualr driving.

When buckled there really is no movement, so to reach for something, drink in a cup holder, a CD from the glove box, or from the backseat . . . . . ain't gonna happen.

5 points, you are in your seat and you are there to stay. (speaking from experience from Mark's Vette.

They look cool though.

I hear ya my friend. Power tour long haul was done with the DOT seat belts for the reasons you stated above. But once I get to Road Atlanta in July, those belts will come in very handy. They do add a nice touch at the car shows as well.
