Default '01 SS M6, price advice

Hi again,

I have another car I'm looking for price advice on.

-2001 SS M6 vert
-77000 miles
-red/black top/black leather
-CME

Assuming clean condition, what would be a fair, reasonable price to pay in your opinion?

Just a guess of course, but I would think around 15k at least, depending on condition and seller and buyer motivation. If someone offered me 15 for mine I wouldn't sell it though, and that one's an SS. But obviously mine's not for sale the price would be higher.

I paid $17,600 for my 99 WS6. The car was bone stock and in brand new showroom condition. It had 53k miles on it but they did not show anyplace except the odometer. I have added SFCs and a STB just to keep it from shaking itself to death on our exciting (read bad pavement) Texas roads. I failed to install those on my 91 Z28 5M convertible and I deeply regret not doing it. I wouldn't sell my WS6 for $20k but then it is exactly the car I was looking for when I bought it. You can get a ballpark price a lot of places, but it really comes down to what the car is worth to you. How close is it to what you really want!

13-15k Max for that car. There was a 2001 non SS auto vert with 13k miles optioned out for 15,500 I bet the dealer would have taken 14,900 for it.

77k miles is nothing for these cars except to the value. **** I'd be happy if someone offered me 10,500 for my car with 68k on it. Don't think I'd take it but I would think about it....

I could be wrong on this, but I think the M6 are rarer than the A4 and should go for more money. Everywhere I ever looked there were alot of A4's but not many M6's (in verts that is). Also I had noticed on ebay a while back, the M6's were fewer and more costly. Kind of just an educated hunch though, just trying to help.

I think it depends alot on what market you are in, as well. I looked around Michigan and to find a good-shape convertible six speed without an insane asking price was nearly impossible. That SS would have a 18k sticker on it up here. About a 15% premium over south / west coast, another 15% for a WS6. The cars just don't hold up too well up here, I guess.

I agree about 13-16k if it is really nice is a good place to start.

However I noticed in Florida and California they were a dime a dozen, shop around, it's worth travelling for the right car.

Well, I just brought it home!!!! I'll post some pics tonite or tomorrow, but I'm very excited about my purchase. I live in Phoenix, and the asking prices I have seen over the last couple of months have just been crazy. This is a one owner car and has been well cared for. I ended paying $14,750 which I think is a great deal based upon what others are asking in my area, and about halfway between the prices shown on Edmunds vs. KBB.

Anyway, thanks to all for your feedback.
