how much more do we weight compare to a hard top and a t top
cause some one told me 800 pounds more i didn't belive that

It is not even close to 800 lbs more. It is more like 200 pounds heavier.

Yea that sounds about right. I weighed in @ 3700 with me in the car (Im 145). I have alot of aftermarket suspension too so mine wieghed a little more.

yeah, i went to the track once and like a dumbass had a full tank of gas and **** in the trunk and my buddy wieghed his ss t-top in at like 3400-3500 and my vert was 3700-3800 with me in the car

there was another thread on this a while back and someone posted the specs from GM and it was only like 150 pounds heavier

Curb weight on the 1999 SS vert was 3574 pounds. That's according to the August 1999 Car and Driver mag. yea.

where is all this weight exaclty? in the conv. motor? can we remove it and then lower and raise the top manually?

As I understand it, most of the extra weight is in extra steel for frame reinforcement to make up for no roof to help keep the frame rigid
