vert vs. hard top

vert vs. hard top I know that the vert's weigh more than the hard tops, but if you took a stock ls1 A4 trans am hard top vs the same car with a vert. how much would the hard top win by?
It's a small enough difference that car to car variation will be what matters, all else being equal.
True enough that the extra weight does inherently slow the cars down but there is enough variation car to car that it isn't a fixed result.
Particularly from a stop, the launch will matter much more than it being a vert.
Top down also hurts at high speeds.

For A4 Camaros:
Z28 Rag-top- 3554
Z28 Hardtop- 3433
Diffrence- Whopping 121 Lbs
I kinda like the fact folks THINK the 'verts are heavy pigs....

I would like to see a hardtop and a vert of the same year get wieghed on the same scale. I think the vert is heavier than reported. My 94 vert felt like a pig compared to my 97 vert stang.

Not real sure what the 'verts weigh stock, but my last car (a SS hardtop) tipped the scales at only 3307 with a 1/2 tank of gas.
From what I've seen around here, it appears the 'verts weigh around ~3600lbs. stock.

not that much of a diff in performance, i raced my buddy at the track a few times when we both were near stock(i still am) and his 98 SS had an ls6 intake and he was an M6 with T-Tops and it was more of a drivers race, i got him just about every time with him pulling at the end of the track!
