Default nhra rules

so whats the rules with cages and verts? im searching now but figured id ask you guys. i have a 99 ss vert, im looking at the wolfe cages but isnt there another company? also, can someone explain jig notching and if removable bars and swing out bars are nhra legal? thanks.

verts need a 6 point roll bar (13.99), swing out side bars are legal. don't know what you mean by removable bars. some people want a removable bar across the back sit, not nhra legal. jig notching makes the bars much easier to weld together ( save you time ). I drive a 2002 vert and ordered weld in mild steel 6 point from wolfe with swing outs, you can get weld in or bolt in. both are nhra legal

thanks, i was referring to the back seat bar. if i buy a bolt in system do i even need to worry about jig notching then?

No, you sure don't. Jig notching only applies to weld-in cages.

Also, they changes the rules about two years ago and dropped 'verts to 13.49. Even though that really doesn't really matter, because most of us can run that in stock trim

I do stand corrected roll bar 11.00 to 13.49 & roll cage 10.99 and quicker, 2007 nhra rulebook. That cross bar in back seat can NOT be removable.
