Mac mid-length headers, Mac catted Y and Borla. The headers give off a great cackle sound. Everyone who hears them on the car loves the unique sound.

Of all the headers on the market that fit our LS1's ,which will allow the most ground clearance?

i have long tube pacesetters/ no cats/ TSP dual exhaust/

putting the headers in were quite easy. the passenger side was a piece of cake. the driver side we had to unhook the steering wheel knuckle.

from what i can tell the Headers aren't what will give you good clearance. its what exhaust you get. their are huge differences in clearance between the same headers with diff exhausts

funny thing ... yesterday was the first time I really looked at the bottom of my car since almost 2 months since I bought it... and it was funny ... a 98 convertible ...

LT headers don`t know wich brand might be flowtech or pacesetter ....

what I think is two 2.5 or 2.75 small I pipes

welded to the stock factory Y pipe!

with the oval piece on the driver side ( isn`t it suppuse to be on the passenger side?)

welded to what I think is 3 inche from the Y end to the muffler (wich was a flowmaster) looks aluminised

welded to the stock muffler wich I replaced the flowmasters with

to 3 or 3.5 tips chrome plated tips

anybody have a picture of the factory X brace to check if I still got it?

it`s staying the same untill I finish modding and have extra cash to play with maybe a e-cutout next month .... and might switch back to stock tips for a more stealthy look while installing the cutout.

i doubt many people have their factory x-brace left. if im thinking of the same thing. i had no option but to remove mine. their was no possibility of me keeping it with my TSP dual exhaust setup.

Pacesetters here. Love em PLENTY of clearance. only thing that sucks is my fingers are too fat to unscrew the oil filter now with them in the way. I make my g/f do it.

yea sham. im not a big guy in any manner quite skinny and the headers to block access to the oil plug and filter. though neither are supposed to be very tight. you should be able ot remove the oil plug with just a normal wrench without even coming close to rounding it off. and an oil filter should only be hand tight. though most people think they need 4589739487 tq on every bolt and nut rofl.

JBA coated shorties here. Had them installed by a shop so x-pipe is not known to me.

hello, i have jet hot lt's & jet hot Y with cats (although the cats are like coke cans inside the Y that would NOT pass a visual test) what i did was get an SLP drive shaft safety loop (beware my stock torque arm sometimes hits loop and sounds like an exhaust rattle) the loop dips down for pipe clearance. option 2 SLP use to make this replacement bracket which i bought used for $40 and still have if you'd like to buy. didn't need after loop installed. its like 2 strips of metal welded to allow pipe clearance and bolts right where factory crossbrace would . (call slp if you want more details about it) good luck ps i just added a aluminum trans pan that sits slightly lower than my headers uggg! but clearance seems to be ok but i haven't gone over any big speed bumps yet!

I have Pacesetter LT, ORY, and a dynomax bullet muffler, dropped on sportlines. I haven't had any problems with scraping unless I take a steep entryway without paying attention, which very rarly happens.
