Talking new ride

New guy here .This is my first convertible and the first nice day since i bought it a week ago to go out and take a few pics. It is a 1998 A4 mysticteal with tan leather. It only has 55,000 on it and has been sitting in a barn for a year and a half. I bought it from an estate sale. I am open to any advice on dos and donts about verts.

Wheels, good tires, and a slight drop in height is what I recommend. Then some power mods. Good looking car, not too many Camaros out there with that color.

Thankyou i am looking into wheels low on funds for a little while. Yes it seems to be a rare color. One site showing gm numbers say that it is 1 of 63 verts made in mystic teal in 1998. Pictures dont show how cool the paint is it changes from green to dark blue to almost purple. Somebody even ask me if the nose was a differnet color until they walk around the car. What is a good brand of lowering springs to purchase?

Damn I wish I bought a rare color now. (Though Im 1 of 74 vert/m6 I think) Not sure on springs. Did you have any particular color scheme in mind?

Didnt realy think about color schemes. I guess blue or red. Most of the parts i want end up being blue or red. Under the hood is a medium blue with no clear.

I'd highly recommend you get some subframe connectors is it doesn't have them. Hard launches will ripple the rear quarters near the top. I rippled mine with street tires. I'd also recommend a STB. The difference in the way it drives with just those two changes is amazing. If you want to lower it, I'd recommend the Strano springs with some Koni shocks. Looks good and gets rid of the floaty feeling, corners much more solid.

Get yourself a couple cans or Raggtop protectant (for canvas tops) and use it.

Silicoln your weatherstripping, especially the large strip at the top of the windshield and the sail panel parts. They are no longer made (I think) and are very expensive to replace.

Oh and no automatic carwashes, just in case this is your first vert ever.

So far hand wash only but thats how i wash all my cars. Though it is garage keeped i am going to look into ragtop protectant. Today i will change the diff fluid pretty dirty. The silicon for the weather stripping is that a spray you apply?
