Lightening a vert?
I am not making it into a quarter mile track car. I just want a bad *** vert. If i wanted a track car i'd buy another one. This is my daily driver. And i will occansionaly take it to the track each time i add something to it. Something wrong with wanting a 450 hp vert. I just saw one in may's issue (i think may) putting down over 500rwhp. Bad ***
I mananged to cut a 2.1 on 275Kuhmo's at 3000ft. and like 90*+ temps. I just got some BFG DR's 315 on a 9.5" ZR1 Rim yesterday and it feels squirely on the street when changing lanes the rear end wags to much. Not sure if that is because the rim really is not wide enough for the tire or just a trait of DR's (first set).
When I get the ported TFS heads, 1.6RR and cutout on I will get some new 1/8th and 60' times at sea level. (one month)
SOM will get a intake cam and exhaust and will see what she can do on Michelin 305 PS2's (X-mas or sooner)
As far a weight reduction, a lot of it can be done at quite an expense without makng it a full track car like mentioned before with the K member, etc... But question is how far are your willing to go to comprimise it. I agree with the guys who add power to compensate and keep the seats, etc...
