we don't need a hard top. I've driven in the middle of winter and the top doesn't leak and car warms up quick. Might be cool if done right, but I don't want to pay for it nor store it for 9 months a year.

We need the damn 1/4 windows next to the back seat like on the Mustang so we don't have that huge blind spot.

^that could be incorporated in as well. I dont think theres a huge need for one but almost no cars that have them need them. Like i almost bought a 2003 M3 convertible and the hardtop was sooooo much better. It wasnt needed but i think it just makes it feel like a real car. Plus ive heard plenty about a fbody convertible leaking and i hate the way they look inflated when your driving down the highway and i have never seen one that didnt do it including an 02 firehawk. A hardtop is a big improvement in many many ways.
If you dont want to pay for it then you wouldnt have to and as far as storing it, i couldnt imagine it taking up too much space. Have you ever had a jeep? Once you find a place for it, it isnt bad. Do you seriously drive the whole 3 months with the top off? Id leave it on until i wanted the top down much like my t-tops. But i could see the inconvenience in not being able to just drop the top whenever you wanted. But then ahead i always plan ahead so...

Depends upon the winter. Doesn't come down much I guess in Nov - Feb, so that's 4 months. But I really like being able to drop the top any chance I can. I had T-Tops in a prior car, but I love how easy the convertible is.

My 2 f-bodies were fine on the highway. Only time I noticed problems with the top is when I got into triple digits with the top up.

Building a one piece hard top doesn't seem too difficult to me. I want to chop the top on my T-top car and make a new, lower hard top for it.
I talk about ways to make it in this thread.
