Anyone know how to change the top? Hey guys..
My back window blew out...(LONG STORY)
I bought a new complete top, with back window already sewn in and what not..
Has any one changed tops?
If so can someone run me through it? I will PAY someone, if you are local (atlanta area) to help me change it!

Its fairly easy once you remove all the interior panels from the back!! Just takes a while to get all the 2.3 million nuts off the rear of the top where it attaches to the body!! Haha!! Get a good air ratches!! Ha!

Someone needs to bite the bullet and do one for the "team"...only thing that concerns me is that two piece thing, where you have to join both parts of the top...scarey.

I got my new top from eztops.com or something like that.....
I paid 400 dollars shipped for the top, its OEM style, with Heated Glass Window..
I just dont want to pay the shop here the fee to do it..
90 bucks an hour.. @ around 9 hours is what i was quoted....

The $90hr sounds high but most shops wont install a top they didnt buy.
I need one too so my car sits in garage with a parade boot only to come out on nice days.
Go to the local GM dealership and ask who does their tops.
Chance are its an independent that comes to dealership to do the specialtity work and is contracted by service dept.He may be willing to come to you and do it.

When i get back from iraq, ill make a very nice tutorial with tons of pics and even videos.... But thats 8 months from now. Sorry i cant help ya sooner. Im in the same boat as you here. My stitching is starting to go on the top so ima purchase a new one. Might aswel because id imagine itll cost the same to have it re-sewn. I just gotta figure out what thread they use. My grandmother used to be in this industry So ill ask her what the best is. She owned a shop. Id send her my current top but it needs to be done fast. I dont have the time to wait when i get back. Idk what im up against really. Hopefully since im just doing a new outer skin, i wont have tooooooooooo terribly much to do. All i know is that when you do infact do it, Ragg Top the s**t out of it (protectant spray) before you put it on because thatll probably save you a bit of effort when it comes to putting newspaper over your windows and whatnot.

The automotive school i went to did mine for me..... the guy who did it is very reputable and has been on overhaulin doing upholstry.... he did it as a comp for the class he was teaching so i paid no labor.... the top was like 450 and the rear glass was another 400. That was for a black canvas top
