Rear Window
The previous owner of my T/A 'Vert did a ****-poor job at adding tint. It looks terrible, is too dark, and doesn't stretch all the way to the edge. How complicated (or costly) is it to replace the rear window without replacing the entire top?

Kind of a late post to this thread but I just did this.
Google "remove tint" and you will find lots of how to's. Basically you have to soak the glass in straight amonia for an hour or so under the sun's heat (I used a halogen light due to the current temp).
Then carefully and slowly begin peeling it away - I used a heat gun to help it along. That part goes pretty quickly - but the cleanup of the leftover adhesive is maddening. Switching back and forth between the amonia and Goo Gone worked for me. No defroster line damage.

How do I know if the tint was done on the inside or outside of the window?
Also, how bad is it if I accidentally get amonia on the fabric? (I didn't just asking)

Hmm. I have to say I got some overspray on the fabric - hard to avoid it. So far I haven't seen any ill effects.
