I agree. I would like a stronger case as well. I have my a driving style that would benefit from it.

I won't buy a diff unless it's a cast unit. I'll wait untill then, thank you. Just can't afford 2200 here....5500 there.... not the way we use our cars. I'd rather buy one,..and be done.

(but I would gladly switch to a ZR1 trans/diff/cradle setup)

I hear that. I am spending about 1300 right now to get me a stock Z06 diff. I think I am also getting another case for 400 so I can see what I might swap and always have a back up so I can make it to work.

I talked with a guy at Rockland Standard Gear and he mentioned what they are doing is installing the 08+ C6 cradle and diff carrier in drag cars because it is the strongest case availible, you also have a diff mount on each side of the case instead of just the center. If you guys are blowing out that many units maybe try that. Check with some of the vette salvage guys like Vette Wrecks, they may have a wrecked late model you can get the cradle and diff out of. Just another idea.

For anyone who is still interested. I have finally swapped the rear ends out in the car. The DTE I pulled out was in a single rib case. The new Z06 rear I placed in had the 3 rib case.

This brings up a good point. Not to Hijack but at what point do yall recommend going to an aftermarket set up and what type? I am thinking of going with the Trick Flow 515HP topend package and Street Warrior Weind Intake With LG Pros. I have a Textralia clutch and gone through transmission(all upgraded). Also im torn between 3.90 and 4.10's I rarely drive the car but i like to feel confident

I think you need the c6 crossmember and the lower control arms to make it work.

Yes,you need C6 cradle, rear spring and lower control arms.Exh needs to be modified, custom trans mounts as it sits forward a little.Different(C6) trans tailshaft and tailhousing) These are the basics,on mine,I found the ride height unacceptable as well with a base spring and had to cut the rubber pad off the mount to get the car level(its not signifiacntly lowered, still stock front bolts)The diff is HUGE in the car,VERY tight fit,but NO cutting of body tub, just be careful to properly route and secure brake lines and ABS wiring.
