Default Climate control digital screen burnt out?

Can this screen be replaced? its on a customers c5. I didnt think it took (bulbs) but could be wrong. I am not the one working on the car but would like to know if it can be fixed or best to just buy another and start all over?

It's soldered joints on resistors that fails on those. There's a guy on the corvette forum who will repair your unit for about a bill. I can't think of his screen name off hand though.

There is a step by step write up somewhere on corvetteforum about that. Its basically souldering some stuff better on the board. I found it easier to just go and buy a new unit. It hasn't failed in the last 4 years now.

Just fixed mine using a writeup & pictures found on the Corvetteforum. Was a lot easier than I thought. There is a detailed picture of the components that usually fail. I hit the joints on each one with a fine tipped soldering iron & it was done. Took me longer to take it in & out than to perform the repair.

My internet @ home is on the blink & at work the firewall won't let me get on. Get on the Corvette forum & search "Climate control display fix", & I think that'll get it for you. Ther are a few threads, but one has a couple pictures with the components circled in red. Hope this helps.

The one in your car works in warm weather but not when its cold,if that helps at all...

P.S. i hope a mod doesn't get pissed, i'm just trying to help ya out. I also replaced my bulbs while i was in there. The first TWO(2) posts you will need. i just did mine 2 days ago and it works AWESOME Mine worked when i first got the car but then has been completely out over a year. i just decided to fix it
