Default Marry Z-MAS! Cam for Z06

Hey guys, I want to get my dad a cam for xmas but since we are going to leave the heads stock for now, I want something that will utilize the stock ls6 springs for simplicity reasons. His car is a 2004 Z06 thats stock other than a set of LG Street Longtube headers. I was looking at the SDPC L92 / LS7 Custom Camshaft - 228/236, 0.566/0.551, 115 which states:

"This cam was designed to be used with the LS6 valve spring package to keep expense down and installation simple! Will work in 347ci LS1/LS6’s, LS2, L92, and LS7’s! Great cam for unported L92 heads or LS6 heads. Perfect upgrade for the LS7! Slightly less overlap than our N228 cam for excellent street manners but big enough to make a strong sounding idle."

Do you think this cam would be a decent upgrade with the ability to use the stock springs? How much rwhp are we looking at? It will also be HPtuners tuned.

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with that cam but I thought the LS6 springs were only good to .550" lift. Installing a more aggressive cam in a car with used LS6 springs doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Why not spend the extra $150 for some PAC 918's while you're in there...it's pretty cheap insurance IMO.

A LS2/LS3/LS7 cam will not work in a LS1/LS6 block. The sensor wheel on the LS2/LS3/LS7 cam is in a completely different location than the LS1/LS6 cam.
