Default C5 Z06 underdrive pulley?

How easy is it to change out the pulley. I looked at my Z and it looks pretty close to the steering rack??

Yup!! Your going to have to move that out of the way. Its a pretty challenging job cuz of how akward the steering rack is, but once its out of the way, its pretty smooth. Have fun with that and take your time. Personally, I wouldnt do it until i was ready to change out the cam due to how frustrating that job can get. Once you put the cam in, you can put the new UD pulley on.

Serriously, get a cam and do it all at the same time since the cam is litterally 30 more minutes away when the rack is pulled and the balancer is off.

True. For the vette it is better to do the pulley when you do the cam. The rack can be a pain to get out. You have to have it turned just right to pull it out of the car. If you want to just do the pulley, it is not worth it for the time you will be putting in.

Not to rob a thread but how beneficial is changing out these UD pulleys. Seems like an expensive 3-4HP.

If you search, some people have gained more than 10rwhp. But on the vette it does look like a bitch. When i put my engine in i didnt go ahead and install one, now i bought one and havent even tried to install it in half a year because it looks like a pain in the ***. I always wondered why i saw them for sale brand new in the box.
