So if you plan on changing the heads + cam on the z06, the 02-04 would have no advantage over the 01??

The reason they made more power was because the head + cam right? If you change them anyway it wouldn't matter, right??

Correct... My yellow car is an '01... the only difference left in it is the actual valves in the head. The '02+ cars got sodium filled intake valves (or was it exhaust valves). Other than that everything has been modded out.

I agree, if you swap your heads and cam then the 01 vs 02-04 c5 z's are all the same when modded the same. I'd strongly suggest you get the 2.02 intake valves 1.60 exhaust valves. They really helped my afr 205's shine.

I was told that the pistons on the 01 are a little heavier the 02-04 thus giving 5hp less with the same mods.
