id change..the horrid stock lights are heavy and the lumens are useless. You can shave 30 LBS off the front and have HId's and actually see at night

My HIDs work great with the stock lights and the lines of the car aren't ruined. Keep the stockers.

I sense that there is a line drawn in the sand on this subject.

After reading Snakeaters post above- these are not for me.

Holy Crap...Lee you got a Vette! Awesome! Hey I will be down in the p-cola area around the 1st part of march if you want to get a look at the Depo's up close and make a decision. I mean the depo's aren't the best quality, but I do like the amount of light they put out and the way they don't act as airbrakes when I have the lights on. There is good and bad's to them. My favorite part is there is no gears to strip out... After my trans am I am done with pop ups!

Yeah bro- bought a Y2K base vette...nothing special. Gonna commute it back and forth to Louisianna for a bit. ALOT of night driving. I hear ya on the gears- Both the TA and the vette have the right headlamp grind. sucks bad.

I'll be offshore March 4th - the 11th...if you are in town before or after those dates, I'd like to get up with ya man! been a long time.

if you keep the pop ups, corvettegarage.com has some nice HID's for 850$. new lens, balasts and all. Beware of just sticking "hid" bulbs in your stock assembly...cuz they are not. You need a balast.

I love my Depot's , they just take time to get installed correctly .

Much better lighting of the road and less wind resistance at night than the stockers .

when i replaced my stock setup , I needed a motor for one side and a gear for the other and after pricing out everything , the Depots were about 30 bucks cheaper and now i dont have to worry about replacing motors / linkage and gears every few years .

I bought a set of Specter WErks Replica C5R headlights and put HIDs in them...best money i have ever spent (1500). installation was a bitch and a half. took me almost 24hrs to install and align the beams. these lights FAR out perform stock lights, like 10 fold. i would never go back to stock, you couldn't pay me to do so. not to mention, the lights are almost as good as my mercedes!

heres a shot of them:

here is a shot of them about 50' away from the wall, notice the cutoff.

Why not just keep the pop ups but have the mod where they dont pop up all the way. (I know rice) but with some projectors in ther i think it would look sick and help on lighting at night and you dont have to put up with the bad comments on the non pop ups.

no TA anymore it was molested by crooks over two years ago. I guess i should fix the sig. Looking for an un molested vette now but that has proven to be impossible.
