Air pump failed!!!!
Hi guys, could somebody helpme, please, i have a '99 Vette, when i turn on my car, the air pump does not suck air and the check engine light is turn on, i has been thinking that may be it does not work,what advise to me to do, change the pump?? or any other solution??, thanks.

i'd dump the peice of crap. I took mine off and just had my tuner delete the code. i removed all my AIR pump and piping. you COULD buy my AIR pump and piping for like $75 shipped. i have my stuff just sittin' in the garage. Let me know. I'd suggest just taking out your current stuff and putting some exhaust block off plates where the piping bolts to the exhaust maifolds

Thanks guys, but i have other questions, If i do remove the air pump,how to disable the codes associated with it, actually i removed the air pump and in the plastic pipe i put a little air filter, what do you thing about it, or i need to block the air metal duc with a plate.

If you are going to remove the air pump, then the filter is pointless. Having it will actually affect the headers savaging ability. It is better to remove all the hoses and use block off plates at the headers. There are a couple of sponsors here that sell the block off plates. You can make your own if you want, but use at least 1/4" thick steel.
To remove/disable the codes you will need a package that can program the PCM. I know software packages like HP Tuners, EFI Live, and others can do this. I think the Diablo hand held unit can disable some codes, but I am not sure if if can do the air pumps ones or not.
