Ever check the compression. Some of these factory freaks are nothing more then a few ringers that gm probably just threw out for the hell of it. Thinner gaskets, or slight milling of the heads, I am not 100% sure just speculating. Just seems that all the motors are built at the same time, so they should all be the same roughly, not have a 30 rwhp difference. Check the compression and we'll know for sure.

My stock daily driver 02' z06 made 355 on a dynojet and only 305 on a mustang dyno!! ..50 h.p. difference no changes to the car whatsoever!!

Back when the last C5Zs were being built in '04, some car mags and tuners, from their various tests, were estimating them at around 425 HP at the crank (bonestock!).
