Please help me kill this noise! 2001 C-5. Recently installed trick flow heads and cam, ls2 throttle body, fast intake, lg headers, 2700 stall converter and a new tranny. For the first 500 miles, all is good. However, just got this noise that sounds like a serpentine or a/c belt noise but it seems to be comming from the front of the torque tube. I hope its just the front bearing. Anyone with any advise would be appreciated.

If you don't hear the noise with your ear near the belts then it's probably not the balancer. If you hear it with your ear near the firewall then it's probably in the TT. I've had to replace dozens of TT bushings here lately on my client's vettes, but none of them were making noise. I just did it because we were in there doing other work like tranny, converter, or clutch. Those couplers end up doing little burnouts in the TT once they start to wobble apart. Check out the pics from the last pair I replaced.
Also make sure the input shaft coupler is tight. The one you get to through the bellhousing rubber cover.

glad i replaced the tt bushings, they were shot, but did not fix the problem. replaced the harmonic balancer witha stock one and still had the noise. put on an undrive pulley and presto the noise is gone. thanks for the help guys

bump this...I've had a noise at like 1500rpm that sounds like a squeak...like a belt...but in the torque tube area or back of the motor. It doesn't do it at any other Rpm and doesn't do it if you stand on it. ideas?
