Question How to lift car without pucks?

I want to lower my '03Z on the stock bolts but I don't have any jacking pucks. I plan to use the auto-hobby shop here on base, which has lifts. Where do I position the lift so there won't be any damage to the frame rails? (I obviously have never jacked the car up yet.)

Find some hockeypucks at a local sports store, or located some square tuning that can fit in the cups of the lift and connect squarely with the jacking puck are of the car.

Honestly I never use pucks EVER! I think they are pointless and none of my buddies use them either. Just place your jack right beside where the pucks go normally (the slots in the frame) and raise it there. I say you put the jack beside the hole so you can put a jackstand right over the hole but not in it if you get what I am saying. I have never had a problem doing it this way for the front. I put my jack in the middle of the rear end on the rear and put jack stands in that way when doing the rear. Just place the jack under the support piece that goes under the rearend and you will cause no harm. Been doing it this way for years and never had one problem. The pucks are just a waste imo.

Smartest and least expensive way is to simply throw 4 $1 hockey pucks on the lift arms. It prevents any damage to the body. You'll have to remove the legs from the arms since they'll be too high also. There are 2 spots you will see that the body panel has an area notched out of it for the pucks to be positioned. I've seen others use a longer piece of wood to spread the load over the body panel too as another option if you can't find the hockey pucks.

I have to park my car on 2x4's 1st. Then jack it up from the rear. Then jack it up from the sides with your basic autozone jack...

New Z06 owner here guys trying to do first oil change. Can you lift the front of the car on the brace between the a arms? Not the flat piece but the piece that looks like a piece of channel that is right under the crank pulley. This may be confusing but this is as good as I can explain it.

I have lifted mine on the piece you are talking about with a plank of wood on top of the jack. Jacking the car from the front is a bitch because of the front spoiler and clearance. Its probably easier to drive the car up on little ramps or at least 1 2x4 under each front wheel, as mentioned above, before you start jacking.

yes you can jack from the front or rear crossmember. I usually stick a piece of wood on teh jack to spread the load out a little.

If you jack form the side, just don't put the jack under the body panel. It will crack.
