Default C6 + Spec Twin Disc?

I just bought my C6 yesterday and drove it home (7.5 hours)

The car has a Spec Twin Disc, it just seems to engage a little high for my taste. My friend who sells Vette's says it's engaging at the normal spot, so I'll have to get used to it.

But it just seems like my Spec 5, where it's on or off, if you try to slip it, you can feel it chatter...

Any suggestions?

but boy it grabs like an SOB!!

Take it out and throw it in the garbage. You don't want a clutch from a company that in there AD's show a clutch(there clutch),...secertely turns into a SAW blade and ***** your whole car up.

Mcleod, ram, textralia exo, rps, etc in any random order.

You want it to engauge high if you like to race...pulls a shift faster in my opinion. I had to buy an adjustable master to get my McLeod twin off the floor. Once adjusted higher, you can just quickly stab the clutch to power shift. Mine was like an on-off switch as well. A few hard launches broke it in and it slips great. Just leave with more rpms and practice slipping.

Thanks Pitt! I finally was able to get some stop and go take offs today and I'm getting better. I've just been used to my HHR SS all winter. I have noticed with the more rpms she takes off just stock. really holds those 700+ horses!

now to power shift, do I need to push it all the way down still? I would think that would take longer?

You should be able to just push about half way down if it is already near the top as you say. Truthfully though..I wouldn't be power shifting unless your trying to squeeze every last drop from it. I mean like maybe you are running a 11.03 or something and you have to have that ten second slip. It just ups your chance of tearing something up or missing a gear and ruining your run. I just speed shift it now and no more broken syncronizer rings..lol. I'm so far from a 9.99, no use beating my tranny for a tenth.

I had a Spec 3+ in my KB Cobra and loved it. BUT.....I do listen to Jamie/V-series when he gives me advice on C5's and C6's.

...I just have a problem with spec. Thats all. I wouldn't ever knowingly give anyone here or in the world false information. Nor, would I badmouth anything without first understanding it or it's issue first. Thats all mang(s).

(thanks by the way Jay).

I understand V-Series!

I wouldn't have put a spec in it myself, but it's what was in it when I bought it on Friday.

I bought my spec 5 for my WS6 but it's really a drag only car, and even after that blows, i'll switch to Textrilla most likely

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something obviously wrong...other than the brand name! lol

I had an RPS in my Blown GTO..AMAZING clutch!

I have a spec twin and on Friday I will be going to 1000rwhp so I say it's a good clutch.

I have been running it between 700 and 850rwhp for over a year now.

The clutch is very quick on engagement but the pedal isn't that heavy so I can slip it a little to have a smooth start. My passengers can't tell it's such a grabby clutch now that I've been using it.

Not a problem. When I valet the car or get it washed they always stall it 4 or 5 times because it's so quick. I don't have any problems though.

It has to be quick because it has to grab or it will die from slipping to much. Any high hp clutch will be quick, I'm just happy that the pedal isn't heavy like some others.

I think spec has some problems with their single disk clutches but their new super twins work great and I have not heard of too many disappointed members..
