Talking 05 c6 camshaft help

I recently added an 05 c6 to my collection and I need some advise. My current setup on my 01 is the trick flow package with the lg headers and corsa exhaust. Also has the fast intake with the vararam system and a 3000 stall. car made great power and is plenty fast for me. Here is my question, the cam in the 01 is a 220/224 with 585 and i had to bump the idle up to 1000 to keep it from dying. It does not seem to have good street maners. I want to put the similar trick flow package on the 05, but i want it to be a little more steet easy. is the tf 238/242 wth 595 going to act as bad as the 01 did. any advise would be appreciated. Please don't get me wrong i love the 01 but it was supposed to be our date car and its a little rough. Side note, the 01 convertible ran 720's in the 8th on the 3rd run after 2 easy passes to practice shifting. I got kicked off because i didn't have a fire jacket before i could try harder. It seems to have had plenty left . thanks again

Im surprised you have idle problems with that size of a cam in the 01. My buddys cam in his vet is quite a bit bigger i think its high 230s both way and over 600 lift. And that thing doesnt idle worth crap.

With a 220/224 cam, there should not be any idle issues if the tune is good. On the 01, did you get a tune done?
