Default What would it take to outrun

A 1997 Mustang GT with a 347 stoker and a Kenne Belle SC? Kid claims it put down 430 to the wheels, is this about right?

You have to look at the over all set up, exhaust, tranny, what gears he is running, what type of fuel, I mean there are about a 1001 mitigating factors can it happen yeah.

150 shot is the easiest, not the safest or most reliable but it should net you one victory which is all that is needed to show him up

That car should make a lot more than that. I think he may be trying to reel you in. Don't run for money.

If he is a 97 gt he has replaced the motor with a pushrod motor. That car came with the sorry 4.6 and only 215 hp. So you really need to find out all he has. He has also replaced the computer setup. A cam would help you and so would nitrous.

I've owned 2 SN mustangs. Kind of seems like a waste of money to put the pushrod k-frame in a 4.6 car when you could just buy a 5.0 94-95 pretty cheap.

A 347 with unported AFR 185s or ported trick flow streets with a smog legal cam/short tubes/manifold/TB should makes 350rwhp. He might be running gt40s (factory cobra head) which would cut the power a lot.

What I am trying to say is that 430rwhp number seems low unless he ran into a lack-of-fuel wall due to injectors or something.

An SN95 with aluminum heads, no smog pump, and no a/c is a pretty light car too - probably 3100 lbs.

Good comparo.. When i was stock i made 349-354rwhp in my c5z and i ran my friends 2003 mustang gt, procharged, he was making 395rwhp, let the blower cool off and he made 411rwhp with 373's and we were dead even till ~115mph then he ran out of gear and i kept going. If that helps at all? 430whp does seem a little low for what hes got done. The gt was stock 4.6 heads and stock cam with 10psi..

Default another car in the mix.....

A co worker with a 1999 C5, m6, typhoon intake, grantelli maf, vararam, and axle back exhaust wants to run wants in on the action. How well does the typhoon intake flow? This is his first time with a manual so i now he needs the driver mod, what are my chances.
