Toured the 'vette factory yesterday
I was lucky enough to be in Kentucky the last 2 days on buisness and was able to make the 150 mile drive from Lexington to Bowling Green in time for the plant tour before having to rush back to the airport. Talk about living a dream! If you guys ever get the chance to go there, it'll be worth every cent! I was lucky and they were building a lot of ZR1's too. They're closed for the next 2 weeks so I really lucked out. They average 88 cars/day running 1 8 hour shift Monday - Friday right now. The tour doesn't include the paint shop or the powertrain assembly area but you get to see all the interior, body panels and the best part, the merge of the body to the powertrain. What a great time! No camera though unfortunately.

No doubt! I was just there on a VIP tour when my father took delivery of his 09 vert. We also did museum delivery that was really cool. Being that was part of the new car delivery our tour was extensive with just us and a tour guide!
That is definately the way to go
I thought it was interesting that they're currently producing as many "regular" C6's as they are Z06 and ZR1's.
Probably my favorite part was getting to see the engines up close and personal as they were in the car. Too cool

I saw 1 couple getting their personal tour while having their 'vette assembled. Definately an experience that's worth every cent. They had 5 or 6 lined up in the museum ready to take delivery. When I pulled into the gas station getting there I saw a black ZR1 sitting there. We spoke to the driver (best job in the world????) and it had 5 miles on it. He was taking it to the museum and getting it customized prior to the customer's arrival. He said they were going to drill 20-30 holes in the panels for a ground effects package.... wow.
Tough call on which color looked best on the Z06 and ZR1's though...

Is Art's on the same road as the museum? I saw a place there on the way by.

Yep, it's right across from the museum. Art's a friend of mine. Quite a collection of nice cars he's got. It's like another museum only everything's for sale.
