Your experience with gears
Your experience with gears I was wondering if I could get some input form you guys that have made the switch. I have a new Stage 3 diff with 3:90's going in soon to replace the 3:42's in my FRC. Car makes 465/424 to the wheels.
How much more "Seat of the pant" improvement did you get? Was it worth it to you? My biggest SOTP mod have been the heads so far, so just trying to get a feel for things.

I have a Vengeance Racing 402 that puts down 530/520. I went with a RPM Stage 2 Diff with 3.73 gears. It was worth every penny. I did not go with anything higher than a 3.73 because I don't run 1/8 mile and my Z06 is not as heavy a Camaro or GTO. TQ is awesome!
Definitely worth it. 4.10's in my heads/cam FRC are better in every way than the 3:42's.
The final drive ratios are closer together
3rd gear is good for 92 mph at the 1/8 mile track
4th gear traps 119 in the 1/4 with lots of rpms left (should be able to run up to 130)
As a bonus, I had an annoying exhaust drone on the highway with headers and 3.42's in 6th. The 4.10's brought the rpm's up just enough to get rid of it.

I'm about to put 3:90s in my 01 C5. I have an A4 and run 28X10 Hoosiers @ the track. I'm hoping it'll be a good improvement over my 3:15 gears that are in the car now. I run N20, and shift @ 7200.
