Well i could afford if but throwing money away on insurance is not what i really wanna do. I am only 23 my friend. I worked 80-90 hr weeks for 2 years and i have been saving for 4 and a half years. I still have about 30 k in the bank to fall back on but the last thing i wanna do is pay high insurance rates they will be high enough when i add the z06 to the policy. And i really doubt they would go up alittle.

Wait a sec. You just spent over $60K on a car between the price of the car and the mods, and that car is going to depreciate at least $20K over the next few years, and you're worried about a few extra dollars for insurance?

Quit picking on the guy. It's his money. He earned it. Let him spend it how he wants. Half the sales men and women under 25 where I work act like they're entitled to big baller money for working a 30 hour week. I thought it was a generation Y thing but here we actually have somebody who busted *** for four years since he was 19. Enjoy the car Clint!

I'm all for working hard, but blowing that much of your money on a depreciating asset is stupid. I hope you own a house and have some investments.

I think even owning a house is overrated these days unfortunately.

Clint you spend your money anyway you want. Main reasons are you can't take it with you, and money is no fun until you spend it. I too am a workaholic, doing my 4th 16 hour shift in a row. I am catching my stride now since I get off in 30 mins. I like you work my *** off for nice things. I have a bad *** c5 with a monster 402 in it. Nice cushion in the bank account, but I want it to be more, hence the 4 ot shifts in a row. Decent brick home, 2 fully funded retirement plans, and looking at 84K / yr when I retire so my hard work has an END that JUSTIFIES the means. Smart money says Clint does too.

Best of luck to ya. Its not like it is on TV when you see COPS. A lot of boring downtime, and useless paperwork that never goes anywhere.

Yeah i know i may regret this but i just hope this motor holds up tell you the truth. Over on corvetteforum i read there are some ls7 blowing up with low miles and stock motors. I guess if that happens forged 434 here i come. I would like the Lingenfelter 660package that comes with a 3yr warranty. But as long as this thing last a couple years i can always change my goals.

Well the way i look at it is you cant take it with you. I have a pretty good head on my shoulders when it comes to money when i was young i would save pennys. If i saw one on the floor i would pic it up and put it in a jar. The way i look at it is i am 23 with all 3 cars paid for and 25k in the bank i have limited bills so i have no problem putting 1500 in my savings each month. I work at a job where i can work as many hours as i want. Granted i only work 50hrs 5-10hr days. But come winter i might start pulling off some 70-80hr weeks. Plus i have not bought a car besides a couple dd for 6 years i felt it was time for a new toy.

Only one problem with the above comment. You said you can work as much as you want but only work 50 hours a week?? In this bad economy, with people begging for jobs you need to get your *** motivated and make as much money as you can while you can. That cash cow could stop giving milk without warning. Then where would you be. If I don't make at least 100 grand then I feel like a failure. Now that I've gotten a taste of having some money I don't want to go back. I have to miss out on a lot of things like parties, get togethers, etc etc, but I figure when I am 52 and I receive my first retirement check on approximately my 53rd Bday for between 6 and 7 grand a month for the rest of my life I'll do everything then that I couldn't do when I was younger. Work now while you are young. You are missing out on a lot of money to be had. You sacrifice one year of your life and you could go buy a 2010 zr1 for cash it sounds like!!! Anyways let me get off my soapbox. I am proud that you are so young, and have so much. You remind me of me in some ways. You work hard, buy whatever your heart desires.

These two sentences rang true...
I remember being 20 years old (I'm 29 now) wondering how I would get out of $7.50 per hour -Hell.

Now that the 6 figure mentality has set in, my personality has hardened in some ways.
