About to spend some money, would like input and experience...
All my car has ever seen is custom tunes. Just cause you have a handheld,...doesn't mean it's generic.
For the most part, a hand held programmer, for someone like above, is perfect. It can grow with the user(the predator is what I speak of from diablosport)... and for a stock car, or for someone that cannot locate or find a custom tuner,..or can't afford the 500 dollar price, it is a perfect tool. Not to mention, you can data log,...plug it into your labtop,...and watch everything that you chose to record.
Not to mention,...it's a diag tool. Does your custom tuner fly out to your car when it won't start and diag it for you,...or tell you the code? Well lucky you if thats a yes. For me, in the middle of the night, when I have an issue with my car,....my hand held programmer, has saved me on mltiple occasions,...not to mention my friends, since my "worthless" handheld is also able to read codes from cars dating back to 1996.
So,..yeah,..keep reading on the internet how bad a hand held is. Meanwhile,...i'll keep using mine,...and loving every minute of it. ANd for the record,......any CMR(chip master revolution) dealer can do a custom tune to make your tune special,...just for special people just like yourselves.
I too have enjoyed success with my Predator handheld. As you mentioned, datalogging, and live data etc etc. Code reading, and clearing.
