Hey Joshua, thanks for putting the info out there. I couldn't remember.

I got a question though, easing into the throttle and then eventually going WOT I have been able to get 6th gear to 170. She was still pulling tooo. Don't think I'll do that again. Joshua, what about a level V c5zo6 tranny ?? What do you know about that?
I'm only mentioning things I've read in the manual transmission section of this forum. Not sure about the level 5.

One thing to consider on the M12 swap is that traction in the lower gears will even harder to come by considering your horsepower level. You could have 3.90 gears installed in the diff an be similar to an m12 with 3.42's.

Food for thought.

Coil overs make such a big difference. Do that,...maybe some sway bars...

6060

And the ZR1 trans is what you want,...thats the 6th gear useable trans

Its a good investment

Well let me respond to Joshua and Jamie. Joshua, if I swap out rear ends I am dumping a perfectly good DTE stg III with all that bells and whistles. Is comparable to one DTE's stg IV or V's.

Jamie, how much ?? Would a lot of work need to be done to make it work ?? Again how much $$$. Probably more then I can justify. Maybe I should just enjoy the car for now and take a strong look at my options. Coilovers are a must though.

Dunno,...i'll price it out for you.

Can always sell your rearend,...sell our trans and torque tube,......and your rear cradle.

Most I can do is get my cost,...and relay it to you. But, selling your parts, would offset the price I am sure, quite a bit If your already in the market for a trans,.........might as well, know what I mean ?

I use my GPS in my car and the speedo and the GPS pretty much match up...they were only off by 1-2 mph and that was at 120+. It always takes the GPS a second or 2 to catch up to the speedo since the GPS is referenced by satellites.

Just throwing that out there.

For those who missed it. Here's the recipe for going 200 mph. TFS heads, ARH headers, and a custom cam, just add Vengeance Racing and a little bit of Mike's tuning. Drives like she did from the factory but when you drop the hammer, LOOK OUT !!

Lol, glad that made you laugh. I was reading all the posts and hoping that nobody already asked that question.
Whats the point of having a vette and not driving it like it was designed to do.

Here you on the job. Going to be selling mine in a few months to get the money right. Then next year the C6Z will be sitting in the garage!

How would you say the accuracy of the Predator handheld is when logging data in LIVE mode. Not sure if I put that down correctly. You know when you can monitor your live data, throttle position, water temps, IAT's etc etc ?? Theres a line that shows vehicle speed, is that off too?

Need to have my buddy bring his laptop so we can log a run! That should be pretty sweet.

I think if you really want top speed then stick with the M6...the MN12 5th gear is shorter and I'm pretty sure it tops out around 165 or so at the stock redline in 5th assuming stock rear end ratio and stock size tires. I've also heard that it's a bad idea to go fast in 6th gear due to a much smaller gear in the tranny (more force per area = more stress).

^ I agree.

The M12 tops out at 171 mph at 6500 rpm in 5th. Of course you are revving higher I'm sure.

The M12 will make a nice difference where you spend most of the time... in lower gears enjoying the ride.

I doubt you'll feel satisfied, the extra aggression will only make you happy for so long. You might as well plan for the cost to boost it.... and then get tired of that and start over again on a C6Z.

later

Thanks guys ! I have been getting that impression. The other option is to spend some coin and do a 6060 conversion. I'll just stick with what I got for now.

BTW Red99TA, just wanted to say again how impressive it is that you did all the work yourself !!! (H/C swap) What did she put down on the dyno ?? DJ or Mustang ?

Hey Gold,

Thanks for the offer to video and record via datalogging BTW I accept

I'll keep in mind the pic you sent. Just going to use 6th for cruising and gas mileage. LOL Who would've thought a 541 rwhp 505 rwtq 402 could get 27 mpg on the expressway?
