It's not exactly apples to apples comparing a H/C/I F-bod to the C6Z based on the weight differences alone. I would expect a C5Z H/C/I with around 460RWHP+ to be a pretty good run for a stock C6Z. Now a bolt-on C6Z is another story - should probably plan on 500RWHP to play with that one.

There is a local 07 Z06 with a ported intake, TB, and custom tune that ran 7.18 @ 100 mph in the 1/8. With some tuning changes he got it to 102 mph but couldn't improve the ET (different tracks and the second time out the prep wasn't there).

Don't get too caught up in peak rwhp numbers. Also take a look at the torque curve on that 427. Tough as it is to accept, GM made the LS7 pretty hard to beat for us LS1/6 guys.

Horse power is for show TORQUE is what really hauls your azzz ...the 427 is too strong in this senario ... it is a up hill battle all the way ... mod for mod the LS7 will shame the LS1/6 in TORQUE production.

weight doesn't matter that much during roll racing. Aerodynamics, gearing, and hp matter a lot more.

I was refering to what the guy had to say about the weight of the cars.

Maybe a 100-200 pounds won't matter as much as 500-800 pounds, but it does matter.

I've owned both C5 and C6 Z's...

The C6Z will leave you once you shift out of 2nd.

I agree need to be at 500 rwhp to take the c6z. the fast 90 or 92 ported will help. A really good cam for the top end will do it for you.

Stock C6Z's trap 124-128mph. They are very fast cars. I would guess that an Fbody would need that an ls1/6 car fbody would need around 80-100hp more to make it even with a c6Z.

If he had those extra mods then it would be a drivers race but the C6Z will still break air faster. It will leave it...

The LS7's power cures and mph per gear are hard to beat.

Trust me.

When any "fast" 500+ car wants to race me, I always say this, "You guys tend to forget that one cool little word AERODYNAMICS" Which means once you hit 100mph in the C6Z, its starts to fly.

I also have a weight reduction. HA

Well, I did get spanked by a 600RWHP Viper the other day. DUH! 100 extra ponies on me.

My car traps at 138+mph 606/589rw (car weight 3310#) don't really worry much about those fast "C6Z's" or Vipers.

ZO6 plus a 175 shot and it would be close-at least if the Z's engine and clutch didnt blow.

The ZEX direct port is rated at the crank and not at the wheels. It actually (175 shot) puts down less than a 150 shot to the wheels.

Well I will not be getting spanked. I've got DR's on the way and a wet shot. Probably use 150 jets. Should do the trick.

Make sure you got enough fuel pump to do a 150 shot. ~450rwhp + 150 = 600rwhp+. A stand-alone might be a good idea plus allow you to run race gas with higher octane on the spray.

Just put a Racetronix set up in your car and you will be fine to a 150 shot. More than that get a dedicated for the nitrous.

roll racing allows for those who either have no track experience and can't really drive, or those that participate in illegal actions to have fun.

I'd rather see the 500hp car that runs 12-13's at the track, then the car wrapped around a tree or telephone pole.
