Default Which headers for a 2009 LS3?

Which headers would you recommend for a 2009 LS3 6 speed? Looking for what would make the most power and fit the best without issues. I am looking at the American Racing Headers and the LG Pro Headers. I would like to run without cats? Have you run into any problems with setting codes? Can I get by with just putting the headers on and run the stock tune, or does it need to be tuned again once installed without the cats?

I would recommend you get the LG Super Pro headers (new version). A friend of mine had AR headers on his LS2, it was good quality and the fit was great. but he picked up another 4whp when he swapped them to LG pro headers. kooks make some great headers for the vettes too. but if it was me, I will only get the new LG Super pro headers

ARH all the way! None better for the LS3. Easy install and make great power throughout the rpm band. Made in the USA!

I think all of them are great headers personally I went with the kooks on my 08 vette they went in smoothly zero clearance issues. And that was all done with no lift.

I use ARH with my 510rwhp forged 416ci LS3. I have a friend's Z in my garage and we had to re-weld the front mount point on his LG headers as it cracked...Not really sure why it cracked, stock LS6 internals and heads running on 6LBs boost.

ARH or LGs if you can swing the $$$. TSP if you want something cheaper.

get some american racing american made headers....they cost a little extra and fit perfect...really lg's superpro headers are the exact same thing...i ordered lg superpros for my 09 and they send me headers which are different from the 08 and the x pipe didnt fit so i had to tow my car back from charlotte to rock hill and do weld work...lg said there is noway they sold me a set of headers for an 09 bc they didnt make them yet, yet on the invoice it says clearly 09 corvette..lg sucks and i regret ever dealing with them in the past, they will cost you way more in the long run...trust me, go with american racing, the customer service is outstanding...unlike lg...i have ordered from them four times and got screwed all four and they never responded to feedback or emails...good luck!

Thanks for the input on both types of headers. I appreciate the help. How about the tuning, are you running on the stock tune or are you doing custom tuning?

LG, Kooks, and ARH are all good. Tuning is reccomended, you can drive around without a tune and be fine buts its always a good idea to get one with headers.

well as far as tune is concerned you might be ok with the stock tune if that's all the mods you are doing. But I would reccomend one if u plan any further upgrades

id go for the LG super pro headers as well. LG does corvette everything and I believe that they would invest the most time and research into developing parts for the vette....

The reason he is asking about the tune is because the car has about 200 miles on it. And he doesnt really wanna mess with the tune just yet. I say you get the turbo car running first!
