Stock times Me and my 03 Lightning have been challenged by a buddy of mine with a stock 02 Convertible A4. I have run 13.50's stock in the summer heat, and expect 13.30's now with the cooler weather. What times have you guys pulled in your STOCK C-5 A4 Convertibles at the track in the 1/4? I appreciate your time.

The C5 vert is really no heavier than a Coupe so I think the Coupe people can answer your question as well. Another thing we need to know is his rear axle ratio. There are 2 available....2.73(standard) and the G92 option which is a 3.15. I think it should be close. If he has a 2.73, good chance you can take him with a 13.3. If he has the G92, it will be close. Let us know how it turns out.

Its hard to say, stock C5 auto's w/o the stall and gears can be slow. But then again the Lightning is also an auto....this is a toss up.
I can say though, don't ever race any C5 coupes w/ 6-speed, 4.10 gears, drag radials, off road exhaust.......you will be seeing tail lights for miles!
There is the pulley upgrade (for more boost) you can get for your truck that will try to even things out against the faster C5's.

I had an 2001 Lightning, and ran 13.4 @104 stock. My 2002 C5 (auto) ran a 13.5@104 spinning bad with a 2.2 60', thats with a 2.73. I say it will be a close race, you better get the jump on him.

Uhh my friend has a lightning with a KB blower and 440rwhp and my car (6 spd vette) is stock and I spanked him on the highway; however the auto gives up alot without a stall or anything. My stock '04 Lightning dyno'd 361rwhp 442rwtq with 800 miles on it. I'd say at the track it'd be close if he had the 2.73s but with the 3.15 he should take you, and it wouldnt be pretty on the highway, these trucks just dont pull up high. Good luck, LINE EM UP!

Stock Times My 6 speed 2000 convertable vette ran a 13.26 @ 108.56 bone stock against my friends 03 lighting, his time was 13.53 @ 105.28 bone stock. He took me off the line because of the all wheel drive, but half way down the track I started to pull away from him.

The A4's are stock with 2:73 gears, this will be the greatest advantage to you. I have a friend with a Vert A4 and 3:42's running solid 12.0's with a sixty of 2.0's Hope this helps a little. Good luck.
My '01 coupe (6spd) when new with only air intake and catback against my buddies '01 Lightning with K and N only. Had him from the go every time.
The auto's seem quick off the line stock, but 2-3 shift seems kinda slow/long to me. It would be close though.

Yep, you need tires. I am launching right off idle and still can only manage a 2.2 60' (On run falts). I figure with DR's of some type, 12's are very possible to hit with a stock car.

I hope he had more than just gears to get 12.0's..
