Default 2001 C5 ZO6 , 3551lbs??
Hey guys,

I just picked up a 2001 ZO6 and have a question. I noticed the gross weight of my Z to be 3551lbs and not the 3100lbs that seems to be the norm for C5 ZO6's. Is this accurate or does my car really weigh 3100lbs instead?

Sorry if its a dumb question. I'm just beginning to learn about these cars.

3100lbs is without you and your stuff in it. The GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is the maximum combined weight of the car and it's load which includes passengers.

Guys with a 1/2 tank of gas comment that without them in it they weigh 3050.

My '99 FRC weighs in at 3150 with a full tank of gas and a few things in the trunk.

I have an 01 zo6 with me in the car with roll cage weights 3353 lbs. and I weight 245.

Spot on. My 02 Z06 with 1/2 weighed 3080. The car had HRE wheels with some stuff in the trunk. Only about 20Lbs (if that) worth of crap in the trunk though.

As mentioned above the GVWR is the total combined weight of the car + passengers + cargo. There was a story in the news a few years back about how cars like the Corvette weren't even rated to carry two full size men. I mean I'm 240lbs. Put two of me in the car and that's 480lbs. 3150 + 480 = 3630, then add in luggage and you're quite a bit over the GVWR and technically illegal.

Nice.

3158 00 FRC with crap in the trunk, 25lbs firebottle, big twin turbo kit, 250ft of wrap,...on the digital scales. Very happy with the weight of my car since it has full interior and options. That was with about 1/2 -3/4 tank of fuel.

My 01 with 1/2 Tank of fuel, Kooks LTs, Catless, B&B Dual Tip Bullets, Speedline C5Z06 wheels and no Washer Fluid. Without my self tips the scale at 2980 lbs

my coupe with me in it race wheels,no pass seat,ti's, lightweight batt,1/2 tank fuel 3228. 3028 without me in it

My friend's 2000 Vert with 1/2 tank and stock everything except Vararam was 3130.
