Never heard of this method in a GM vehicle. I know of the 10-10-10 passlock relearn,.. which is all security but,... not any reset that you turn the ignition on for an hour and resets. You could easily reset the PCM by putting the negative and positive terminals together for twenty seconds...obviously removed from the battery. That will reset all modules.

will not start
I have the some problem with my 2001 c5 convertable. I just bought it last month. Sometimes it starts with no problem and sometimes I turn the key and nothing happens. If I try it a few times it starts. what did you find

Best place to start is to pull your codes off of the DIC and then go from there. Also good to know if you have an auto or six speed as some of the no start problems are a little different based on the transmission.
Also good to know if it's a cranking issue (i.e. no crank) or cranks over with no start.
If you started a threat you may want to point us over there.
