you will never tell a difference on the street, or track in a coupe, or z06. Its the same damn thing. I run 10's in a coupe and its a ridged as a piece or iron stock. if you want to firm it up, get sway bars and some good shocks.

No clue on the latest NHRA rules... rarely go to the drags anymore. My point was that the car doesn't need a cage to prevent flex, but it may need one to legally run the number. What about the new ZR1? It's just a normal C6Z06 frame which is actually not as stiff as the C5/C6 steel frame. Those run 10's stock w/o a rollbar etc.

The only reason a Z06 is stiffer than the coupe is because of the way the upper tub is designed. The coupe has a wide open rear area, whereas the Z06 has a cross beam made out of SMC that is reinforced by a metal chanel bar.
The frames are exactly the same. The roof of a Z06 offers no more rigidity.
And I know for sure because I converted a coupe into FRc (Z06).
To help stiffen the chassis a bit more go buy a tunnel plate from elite engineering.
