C5 vs C6 to dollars question

One more thing to note about the headlights, those are easy to change on the C5Z. Flip ups only suck if you don't like flip ups. I think they give the car character. I'll be getting a set of the sleepy eye headlight sets as soon as they're available.
They should look something like this:

When finished, they should provide just as much (if not more) light than a C6 does.

^ The best C5 exposed lights are the "stealth cannons" which are $1xxx ( I don't know exactly how much because I don't care)
That is more money toward the potential C6 purchase or you can just use the money towards the HP goal which matters more to me than the lights that may be used once in a while.

There's a 2nd group purchase going on right now... some guy (well respected for electrical/lighting gadgets) on corvette forum designed these from scratch and they've been getting good reviews from the people that can afford them.

C6 all the way.
the C5 is just getting tob e old either way you look at it. would ya rather have a 5.7ls1 or a ls2 and a newer car withe very bit as much for aftermarket and even more responsive to mods

Yes. It's the roofline. Outside of the knotch glass vs. hatch glass, the cars should be aerodynamically the same.
HOWEVER, the Z06 has more rolling resistance due to its wider wheels. The car is significantly lighter than the coupe which helps to counter rolling resistance, but there's still more.

They look kind of goofy being in the shape of the flip ups. Like they're supposed to flip up but not.
And it gets rid of a lot of the character the Corvette has. The C6 has its own character without the flip-ups, but it's a shared characteristic with the majority of cars out there. Not saying that's a bad thing, but the C5, IMHO, looks best with flip-ups.

I purchased my 3rd C5 about 2 months ago. I decided I wanted to get back in a vert and it had to be a red/tan/tan 6-speed. I considered a C6, but to get a clean vert it was mid-high 30s.
I picked up a very clean 2003 w/ 43k miles and every option other than base suspension for $23k.
I do like some of the lines on the C6, but at the end of the day I prefer the C5's winder curvier look. I do think the long overhangs are starting to date the car, but I like the pronounced side cover and door body line way more than the C6's flat slabside.
Plus.... I paid cash for the C5 vert vs. having to finance about $15k on a C6 vert... don't want to have any debt when the C7 comes out... I have a feeling it'll be awesome.

First, thanks for serving. You still did not really answer what you are looking for as far as a fun car to drive around, a 1/4 mile track car, a road course car or what? If you want to mod the heck out of a vette get a C5, you will save lots of $$ for mods.
If you want a fun comfortable car that starts at 400 or 435 hp and don't plan on modding for a while get a c6. I got my 2007 for barely a little more than you are wanting to spend.
Get home soon.

Just do what I did. Put in a Nav system and HID's! My interior, in my opinion, looks better than MOST C6's. The two tone C6 is the only interior I really like (red and black). Here is a little motivation for ya Semper Fi
