Default Best Initial Mods for A6 LS3??

I've seen info saying CAI kits don't provide much gain like they previously did. What does a bone stock auto ls3 usually dyno?

I'm looking at Texas Speeds header/exhaust package to add my my stock NPP exhaust right now with a dyno tune. Obviously a cam is ideal, but I don't want to crack open the engine on the car yet.

Arh 17/8, vararam, fast 102 w/ matching throttle and tune should get u close to 400 whp mark. That would be my goal even its a lotta green for minimal gains. But its nice ****...But you gotta new vette man!

Jesus, that does seem like quite a bit for minimal gains.... how much would a dyno tune and varam intake gain?

Would you stay away from Texas Speed long tubes? They are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tempting for the price and I know they've made great stuff in the past but I don't see much info for the LS3.

Yes, it's a vette, lol

I think its more "entertaining" to do things one step at a time anyways...Put a cai/tune and see where your at...I have only heard good things about texas speed and I bought my fast from them(highly satisfied)But never heard any stats on their products so....Fyi there is a big comparison on all the intakes on an ls3 camaro in gmhtp...Let us know what you decide...I am curious to see how an auto ls3 vette responds to boltons!

While it definitely is cooler to see the gains in each individual mod it sure isn't as cost effective. Maybe intake/tune and dyno is what I should start with.

what would be the point of checking air intake on a camaro? i don't know what they look like under the hood but i'd think the air intakes are completely different, aren't they?

The ARH, Kooks, LG's would be my choice for power and the Calloway Honker for a C6. The tune is a must, especially for the A6 shifts & torque managment.

What rear gear ratio do you have. Standard is 2.56 and the Z51 option has 2.73. If you're running the 2.56 and upgrade to 2.73 or even 3.15 is something to seriously consider and it won't void your warranty except on the diff.

LT's, gears and a tune will be be a lot more fun.

I bought the tsp 1 7/8 headers for my ls3 vette the headers are excellent quality but the x pipe and two peices to connect to the factory axle back were not bent right. I had to take it to an exhaust shop for them to modify the two pieces that connect the axle back to the x pipe. Also the x pipe was a PITA to slide over the headers. But for the money i cant bitch it woke it up alot. Night and day difference

tune would be the first mod i'd do. imo the a6 shifts slow and not as crisp as i like, but a tune made a huge difference.

When I first bought my 08 A6 car it dynoed 362rwhp stock. Added AR headers, maganaflow exhaust, Callaway honker( the only cai to buy for a vette) and tune, got me 420rwhp. Added 3.15 gears and the car felt really good for what it was. Never the less it wasnt enough so we added a D1 prochaerger which got me to 650rwhp and that wasnt enough so me and LMR built the 1200rwhp car I have now.

That is quite amazing rwhp for an automatic ls3 vette...expecially with bolt ons....My six speed barely make 400 to the tires with lt's cai exhaust and tune....damn!!!!

It has been proven many times that a LS3 with a cam, headers, and a tune will make more power than a LS7. Since you have an A6, I would also suggest a higher stall converter. Something around 2600 to 2800 RPMs.
