LS6 clutch dead at 30K
Ok so the title is a little misleading. It's more like "LS6 clutch lasts 29K miles but dies after 1K miles with 450RHWP+". I probably got a few dozen WOT blasts in with the H/C/I setup before it started to slip. Unfortunately it started slipping in 4th at the track so hopefully this year I can get a time that actually reflects all my power mods! Just thought I would post up some pics from the removal. Waiting for my McLeod RST twin disk and billet steel flywheel to be delivered. Already have a Tick MC and putting in a new GM slave so I should be good to go once it's all in.

That's what did mine in for the most part as well...street tuning. Me and my tuner probably made 20 or so total pulls between 3K and 6K rpms with a few up to 6600 but no hard launches at all. After all that I went to the track and had the sticky clutch pedal problem. Put in the tick MC and went back to the track just to see the clutch slipping a little in 4th It still trapped 121.4 in 1400 DA with a small amount of slippage. Looking forward to what it will do this year with a good clutch and the Vararam installed.

Mine didn't make one good pull on the way home from the speed shop and the clutch stayed on the floor. After my full bolt ons and cam. But I had the ram HD installed and it's all good now

You made out alot better than I did with the stock ls6 clutch. I broke the disc hub with 338rwhp on an agressive lane mergeThen I had to pay $860 for a warranty replacement back in 2003 ($ for header removal at stealership i was stuck at).

LS7 clutch is a good street clutch but it is not very good at the track..I know I had one of the first ones that were available back in 2005 ...on the other hand I have a LS9 dual disc clutch and pressure plate for sale that will have good street manners and hold a bunch more power than a LS7 or LS6 clutch will.

My Ls6 lasted for 51k miles...stock up until 40k, then another 5k being 421 rwhp, then another 5k being TT (Incon TT) and then I sold the car.
The current owner used it for another 5k miles with the 421hp setup... before swapping.
He now uses a Spec 3+ behind his 408/L92/250shot

my ls6 clutch lasted.. less than a thousand miles. my car had 11,500 miles on it when i bought it, it now has like 12,300. about 5 quarter mile passes later on street tires and NO SIR. still drives fine on the street though
i just took my last final today, im about to order my clutch in the next day or so... been researching clutches for about 2 months now. sheesh what a headache.
in retro spect, it probably wasnt the clutch's fault. the previous owner had no clue about maintenance. under the hood looked like it was driven down a red dirt road daily, and the clutch fluid was black as charcoal with about 1/4" of a layer of "gunk" on top. so my hydraulics are prolly effed as well. (i ranger method' the crap out of it as soon as i got the car)

Finished it all up this morning. Went for a 10 mile drive through town (lots of stop/starts) and it drives like stock! I mean no chatter and stock pedal feel - I'm definitely impressed so far. Now I just need to knock out these damn break-in miles! Here's some more pics:
