I think the orders go in sometime in May (they're taking 'preorders' now though) and the cars might start production in June/July (there will probably be a summer 'shut down' in there somewhere as well) and shipping late August maybe?
As for the 6 bolt mains, the GTO is no different than the current C5/F-body LS1/LS6 in that respect I thought? Same goes for the C6s LS2 from what I understand.

Motor Trend said third quarter FY. That would be May June for production to begin. I would like to see a definate date though.

Personally, I would not "preorder" since it really means nothing, according to my dealer, except a method for the dealer to figure out how much over sticker he will be asking when he gets his first couple of months production coming in. He was willing to put me on a list too, though. He said, "I have over 45 names and deposits for 15 already"! That is hard to believe, if it is true, this one is going to be HOT all year long!

GM Family First website says Fall 2004 for the release of the C6. GM has upped the rebates to $2,000 on '04's and has 0% financing for 60 months. I now have a VERY difficult decision to make. Currently have a deposit on a 2004 GTO but now a Corvette is within $50 per month. Maybe I can strap the kids to the hood? Tough decision.

The reputable dealers on corvetteforum are taking deposits to guarantee sticker price.

Chevy dealers here in S. Calif that I have talked to say no mark up. Say difference in price of a New C5 and a new C6 is $1,800. That's why the 0% offer on the C5, might be hard to sell them.

I'm on a fence myself. Get a new C5 with 0% or go for the C6.
