Default Build your 2011 corvette engine!

Ok I work at GM and in the daily paper they have an article on building your 2011 corvette engine. If you buy a z06 or zr1 you can go to the wixom plant in Michigan and build your own engine, but it's gonna add around 5800 bucks to the total.

Oh nice... As long as you're paying for someone else to build your car, you can pay more to build it for them.

This is marketing genius. But no thanks... I'll save some money, you build it for me, and let me know when you're done.

idk. if you set away form the doing mods comment. and lets say like my dad who is just about to retire that wont ever want to mod his car. if he paid 5800 and him and i got to go and have a good family time and rare experiance. i mean he is already spending 110K on the zr1. what is 6k more. or hell i wonder if i can take a few of my own parts to have them put in there instead of the factory stuff. like lingenfleters upgraded snout. lol.

Honestly, I can see why you'd do this... Especially like the above mention retirement situation.

All the Z06 and ZR1 motors are signed by their engine builders before they go into the car. At least when you build your motor and sign it you can say "I helped to build this car."

For a guy like me, it doesn't matter. But for someone like my dad who's retiring in a couple years that does make sense... Still, $5800 is pretty ridiculous.

This is awesome.

If I popped $115,000 for a new ZR1, why not spend a 'lil extra and enjoy building it myself? I'm a gearhead so I'd love it.

Also, I'd request the factory tour so I could see my car being assembled and also start it for the 1st time, matched with the museum delivery.

God Bless America! (much to the dismay of the communist/democrat pukes)

The only way I'd support that piece of chit is by helping lift him up to throw him off a bridge somewhere.

In following GM's marketing genius, we at ECS have decided that we will allow you guys to come here and install your own supercharger kit for the low low price of only 2k, plus full retail price of the kit, times 25%!!!
That's only 1/3rd the price of building your own engine, and we will only charge $200 per hour to correct any mistakes made during the install. We will give you a "I installed it myself" T-shirt, and plaque for the wall too!!

I'm sure our schedule will fill up fast, so sign up early!!!

(yes, this is a joke, like paying 6k to lower the handle on the machines that build your engine)

I doubt that I'd pay to put my own engine together. I mean really, if I ever miss the experience of doing this Ill wait till next year when I drop in my new 402. I am sure the experience will be some what similar and I am not giving money to Obama.
