It also helps to be able to spin through the wheel hop zone...

Your gonna love them. Completely new ride. I run the DRM setup myself. I've installed a few different sets on a few different cars, they're all pretty compairable in ride.

have fun with it!

Take the time to really set them up for your style of driving. One size does not fit all...Remember to get an appropriate alignment. My car with the coilovers and PFADT bars is a stinking gokart.

Thanks..Eventually I'll get to drive it. We're in the middle of a BIG snow storm right now and we expect 8-10 inches.

I'll be in Aruba next week...

Damn! It DOESN'T say it stops wheel hop! But if the OP is losing traction he must be experiencing either wheel hop or a sensation similar to wheel hop and should still put an ECS brace on to prevent destruction! LoL

So coil overs, tires and launch style prevents wheel hop, the braces only help to withstand it. Below is another good link on this topic.

Damn !! Thats exactly what I'm saying. Could you please reread your #54 post and tell me how I misread it ?? Because in no way does it eliminate wheel hop. (609)752-0321 Give them a call, I'm sure they could break it down for you.

And by you assumption of the OP (wheel hop) needing traction.

I have a very bad case of no traction, but, and this is a cliff hanger...I have no wheel hop. Maybe because of the tire I run and my launching technique.

Its not about winning or conceding, its about knowledge. Thats why theres a forum, so we can all be smartasses about the C5 world. I've learned tons between this forum, the other corvette forum and the bullet. I've only been in a C5Z for a little over a year. But been racing for many, always in chevys !!
Thanks..

This certainly took off...

Well, I suppose I may have experienced wheel hop in the past, but it could also be the traction control taking over? I've never launched the car, so the only instances of lost traction are rolling 1st and 2nd gear squirts of gas. In one of those gears, hitting the gas at maybe half throttle, and then the tires spinning. More seat time will obviously lead to more experience, but my original question stemmed from the thought that 335 width tires on a car with only a moderate amount of power, from a roll, should not be spinning so easily.

Since it's only about 20 degrees with a ****-load of snow, in VT, and the car has been in the garage for months now, I won't be able to find out until spring. I'll definitely be checking out the mentioned Nitto and Toyo tires. In the past I only ran Star Specs on my Suby, which was plenty since it was AWD and ~300whp/tq, so this other rubber is all new to me.

Again, I appreciate all the input guys, thanks!
