Arrow 1979 Corvette Compression ratio

I'm wanting to put an edelbrock cam in my '79, and the specs for it say that I need to have at least a 9.5:1 compression ratio, my car only has an 8.2:1 compression ratio. How do I improve that number?

Those engines are total wheazers. The only way to get it to run will be to swap on some very small combustion chamber aftermarket aluminum heads along with your cam.

If I owned one, I would either leave it stock or go LS.
