Here in rural southeast Alabama, most everyone waves at everyone....doesn't matter what they're driving or what you're driving.

Is that cause you're all related? jk!!!

Noticed that too, while im back home in a smaller town more people wave. Even fellow Silverado drives throw a hand up. Yet when im up here going for school, no one waves.

Well, I've had my car for exactly a week now and even though I knew about the wave before, it took me a little by surprise that every vette I met (a lot have been out with the nice weather) beat me to "the wave." The wave seems to be alive and well here in central CT.

Depends on the day in Chicago. I always wave, if they don't wave back I honk the horn, still no wave, hit them with "la pistola" (the finger). Mostly I have noticed that it is C5's that do not wave. Kinda sad, they are the ones I see the most of.

I drive a t/a and not a vette (yet ) but I always try to wave at f-bods, vettes, muscle cars, and most nice sports cars in general. I usually rev first though...the cutout seems to get their attention real fast so they see me waving .

It seems like most of the younger folks and/or people with the modded cars seem to wave back more often than anyone else. Those seem to be more of the 'enthusiast' crowd and appreciate their car more than the 'look at my status symbol' crowd I tend to see in some of the older drivers. Don't get me wrong though, I know some cool guys my dad's age who love their vettes and wave any time they pass me around town!

I think it comes down to appreciation. The guys who just drive a vette to make everyone think they have money are the one's who dont do ****. Whether thats racing, car shows, Corvette Club events etc. They just drive the car, they dont care about the heritage or performance or anything.

I hate that attitude but to each their own. Nothing says they have to wave, but it makes them look like a complete ******** if they dont. Oh well.

Keep the wave alive

I'd say 75% do here in Columbia. Took me by surprise the first week of ownership - I forget from my old buddie's '74 days...

When I bought my car it was pretty suprising to have the salesman tell me that I had to wave to other vettes. It was lkike it was one of the features of the car. Glad he told me as I am pretty clueless. Bought the chevy because it is fast as stink and pretty easy to maintain. Having the coolest owners is a perk.
