Question Need help with 1987 Corvette

Hey all i'm new here and thought maybe you guys can help me with my corvette. I got it as a project car and had it for a couple days and one of the cylinders wasn't firing so I changed the spark plugs and wires and the distributor cap. As I pulled the plugs I noticed they were needing to be changed but one in particular was pretty bad and covered in carbon so I assumed that one was the one missing. After getting all the plugs and wires in, it ran a lot smoother and didn't miss at all so I figured I got rid of that problem and could move on to the next. As I was going down the interstate it died on me and every time I tried to start it, it would only run for a second or so and die again. I've been trying to find out why it only starts for a sec then dies. I smell it has bad gas so I put some heet in the tank and it ran a bit longer and almost thought it was good to go but it died again and now I'm back to dying after only a sec. Only thing I can think of is to check the fuel filter for gunk and dirt. It all started after I filled it up completely for the first time and I'm thinking it washed any water or dirt sitting in the reserve tank so tomorrow I'm going to replace the filter to see if that helps and I'm sure it needs a new one anyway. You guys have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance

I would also check the fuel pressure under the hood when you install that new fuel filter so you can monitor what the fuel pressure is at and doing.

Well I got the filter replaced and the pressure is a whole lot better but it's still not starting. I see the security light on so I'm wondering if it's the VATS preventing it from starting. I've seen the security light on before and it still started but maybe it's disabling the injectors now?

Well just to report back, I found out that the connectors for the injectors weren't connecting so I took a needle nose to them and made it a snug fit. Started up and I adjusted the idle and put a new idle air valve. Now the only issue is the power is super low for now and I assume it's because of the heet and additives bogging down the gas.
