Well after a couple days of dealing with what has happened and talking to my wife ( who has been super cool about the situation ) I guess I'll say what happened.

I will start with I have done multiple heads and cams on these engines along with most of all my work on my cars in the past and take every step carefully before proceeding but in wrenching **** happenes and at times it expensive.

I had blown sucked all fluids from the head bolt holes multiple times and had installed and tq'd down the passenger head and started to run down the head bolts in the driver head with a 1/4in ratchet. Everything was going in nice and smooth and I had the bottom front corner bolt in maybe half way when all of a sudden my uncle and I heard kinda a sequeling noise and saw what looked like dust or a fine mist come out about a inch down the block from the head surface. Needless to say I pulled everything back apart and checked all bolt holes again which were still dry and did some testing to figure out in the end I have a cracked block.

I know some will point fingers but at this time **** happens and life goes on. I am now trying to track down a LS3 block or builder short block and will do a 418 fully forged short block build.

Well the good news is parts are being ordered, she will be a fully forged 416 stroker and should be up and running a lot sooner then I thought.

Well more parts ordered but nothing to make it faster but to make it pass emmissions, ordered the 3" kooks green cats that are EPA certified. Not cheap but have to make her legal.

awesome build...

Don't worry everyone has a "when a heads/cam swap goes wrong story." I know I do. Just means bigger better faster.

Really wish my x-pipe would of worked for you and your state. Would of made me feel good to contribute to a cool project like this.
