Default a4 c5 plz. in .

which gear do you prefer for your a4 c5 ...3.42 or 3.73 ? and why ?

i feel my c5 run so fast with 3.15 (( stock )) with yank 3200 stall , but after i sawp the gear to 3.73 i fell the car not fast as it should be.

i raced with stock 2000 camaro i just pull him 3 cars .

what do you think guys ?

if one insists on keeping EMT tires, then the 3.42 would be as high as I would go.
smoking tires is cool to show off to the kiddies (and can be done with 2.73's & power breaking anyways) ; but raises your ET.

With non-EMT tires (or willing to switch tires at the dragstrip)... up to 3.90 ratio.

It's all about available traction.

Geez, you got the 3.15 already, and I have traction issues with the 2.73's, I guess the tires must really make the difference?! After you swap out gears, let me know what you think!

The change to the 3.73s has "in effect" lowered the stall of your Y 3200. To realise the full potential of the 3.73s you need to change out the 3200 TC to at least an SS3600, or if you plan to eventually upgrade to a cam or H/C, go with an SS3800.

For auto's i prefer running something like 3.73s. 3.55s and 3.90s arent bad by anymeans tho. But its all in what you're after. Of course, out of the hole the numerically higher gears will be better, but for some people the stock units do just fine. (but what kinda fun is that? )

I think I'd need to be castrated, then lobotomized, before I'd buy a Vette with an automatic trans...

I just installed my TCI SSF 3500 and 3.42's, and it pulls HARD off of the line. I think anymore gear might be too much for my combo..
