Default Service Active handling system (help)

When launching my car if it hooks up it bogs down real bad and the engine goes into some kind of limp mode for and 2 seconds before it recovers. We though at first it was just bogging down due to low torque but that is not the case. It sends off a message that tells me to service active handling. It only does this if I launch it at low rpms and it bogs or even when launching at 4k on drag radials it would do this with my last motor. The car has the selective ride control switch and I was wandering if this could be the problem.

You are turning the traction control off aren't you? Sure sounds like TC kicking in. Do you get any wheel hop? I have had a service A/H come on after getting some wheel hop off the line.

It does it with the traction control on or off. I have been having this problem for a while, I cant get my car to run better than a 12.5. With over 480 rwhp and 465 tq it is a little imbarrasing.

Does it act any differently with TC on or off? It almost sounds like it is not disengaging the TC. You could see if there is a fuse that you could pull to be sure it is disabled (TC or ABS should do it) and then try it. The service active handling message may indicate a legitimate problem with the system.

getting any codes?

If your lateral accelerometer or yaw sensor freaks out it will do all kinds of crazy stuff whether the active handling is on or off. Anything that the BCM sees wrong with the ETC or active handling/antilock brakes and the car shuts down.

I assume your max torque is set higher then stock, its a good idea to autotap it and see whats going on with the launch also to see if the throttle is getting pulled back or timing is being reduced - if not you just have a plain old bog.. Also make sure if your gear has been changed it was scaled in edit, I know the speedo doesnt matter but there are calculations for so many mph per second the car can accelerate and I believe the PCM uses rpm + wheel speed for that.

Just a few suggestions, good luck.
